Nuno Mendes

 

Born in Ansião, Portugal, Nuno Mendes has finished his superior studies in Musical Education in Coimbra at “Escola Superior de Educação de Coimbra” in 2006 and his Singing Studies at Aveiro’s University in 2013.

 

He has participated in masterclasses and cooperated with professors and pedagogues such as Ana Ester Neves, Carla Pais, Dora Rodrigues, Elisabete Matos, Isabel Melo e Silva, Joaquina Ly, José de Oliveira Lopes, Pierre Mäk and Susan Waters.

 

As a soloist, Nuno has sung the following Opera/Oratorio repertoire: Fauré’s Requiem, Mozart’s Missa brevis in F major; Mozart’s D minor Mass, Luís Cardoso’s Stabat Mater, Spanische Liebeslieder by Schumann, Dixit Dominus by Handel, Gianni Schicchi by G. Puccini, Cimarrosa’s Requiem, Passio by Arvo Pärt, Mozart’s Requiem, Christmas Oratorio by J. S. Bach, Miserere Mei Deus by José dos Santos Maurício, Let’s make an Opera! – The Little Sweep by Benjamin Britten, Pergolesi’s Livietta et Tracollo, Pimpinone by Telemann, HMS Pinafore by Arthur Sullivan and Bastien und Bastienne by Mozart.

 

Currently, Nuno works at Casa da Música’s Choir in Porto and has sung in Cupertinos. He has worked with conductors such as Paul Hillier, Nicolas Fink, Kaspars Putnins, Lawrence Cummings and Gregory Rose.
