Joana Leite Castro was born in s. João da Madeira and Began his studies in Piano and Singing at the Music Academy in that City. She completed his studies of Classical singing at the Porto Conservatory with Professor Cecília Fontes, and also had the oportunity to study with Isabel Alcobia and Fernanda Correia. She graduated in Music Education by Esmae and concludes the Master’s Degree in Music Teaching At the University of Aveiro under the guidance of Vasco Negreiros.
Professionally, she teaches the disciplines of Ear training and Choir at the Music School of Póvoa de Varzim.
Parallel to her professional activity, she trained in the Area of the Coral Direction with Vasco Negreiros, Vassalo Lourenço, Bárbara Francke, Magna Ferreira and others. By the moment, she is the conducter of CCSJM, and teacher / trainer in the children’s choir project of Casa da Música, and current member of Capella Musical Cupertino de Miranda.
With MELOPEIAS, she is working in the area of children’s music, performing in workshops and shows directed at children and young people and their families.
